From NZ to Global Innovation

Brown Acres was born in New Zealand from a deep commitment to nutritional resilience and sustainable innovation. As a Ngāi Tahu Māori founder and mother of three, my journey was deeply personal, inspired by the loss of my brother Andrew "Brown" to Type 1 diabetes and a determination to make nutritious food more accessible for future generations.

After six years building an award-winning organic microgreens business, I'm taking Brown Acres to Australia with a vision to connect nutrition, technology and community.

Our focus extends beyond urban centres to remote, regional, Indigenous and Pasifika communities, particularly those facing food insecurity and the impacts of floods, earthquakes, extreme temperatures and a changing climate.

We believe access to fresh, nutritious food shouldn't depend on where you live or the challenges your community faces.

Our Future Commitment

We're committed to making fresh, nutritious food more accessible through research, innovation and collaboration.

Our vision is to empower future generations through sustainable growing solutions and functional nutrition, supporting food security, community resilience and wellbeing, from local communities to remote regions and beyond.
